Base of a silver tobacco box made in Glasgow

This is the base of a silver tobacco box made in Glasgow in 1685-6 by Robert Brock. It has been engraved at a later date and given by John Rae to Joseph Allan in 1762.

The back is inscribed around the edge with 'The gift of John Rae Esq to Joseph Allan 1762'. Underneath this inscription is the original date '1687'.
