Cream jug, made in Edinburgh

This silver cream jug was made in 1879-80 by S. Gordon Guild, a silversmith in Edinburgh. It is part of a three-piece tea set.

This jug has a C-shaped handle and a small plain spout. The straight-sided body is divided into six panels. The decoration in the panels includes a Chinaman in a garden, a diving bird, a Chinaman beside a pagoda and a bird standing on one leg.
