This silver casket was presented to James Houldsworth of Coltness, by the burgh of Wishaw in 1877, in gratitude for the public park gifted by him. The casket was made by John Russell, a silversmith in Glasgow.

The casket is decorated all over in low relief with strapwork. It is inscribed 'Presented to James Houldsworth of Coltness by Burgh of Wishaw, 1877'.
