Oblong silver snuffer tray
Add to album

A snuffer tray was used to hold the scissor-like instrument known as a pair of snuffers. Snuffers were used to snip out candle flames. This silver example was made by Edinburgh silversmith Harry Bethune, in 1718-9.

The snuffer tray has rounded ends and four hoof feet.
