Fragment of a bronze gun

This is a fragment of a bronze gun which has blown up when being fired. The fragment was found in the sea off Dunbar Castle in East Lothian. The gun was made in 1564.

The fragment has the vent or touch-hole - the hole in the breech through which the charge was ignited.
