Iron pistol

This iron pistol was made by Hector McNeil of Mull in 1733.

The pistol is inlaid with silver. It has a scroll butt and is inscribed with the date, 20 April 1733. It has a Doune lock mechanism which uses a flint to spark the gunpowder.
