Communion flagon

This silver gilt communion flagon is from St Paul's and St George's Episcopal Church in Edinburgh. It was part of a communion set made by G. and W. Crichton of Edinburgh in 1880-1. The set also included two cups and two patens.

The central band of decoration has roundels containing ten-petalled flowers with red glass centres. Above and below these roundels is foliage-type decoration featuring smaller red glass insets. The cross on the lid is set with a crystal ball.
