Communion cups

This pair of silver communion cups is from St Paul's and St George's Episcopal Church in Edinburgh. The cups were made by Alexander Gairdner of Edinburgh in 1766.

The cups have straight-sides and are engraved with the inscriptions: 'St Paul's Chapel 1766' and 'Drink Ye All Of This' - a biblical quotation referring to drinking the communion wine.
