This pair of silver gilt communion flagons is from St Mary's Episcopal Cathedral in Edinburgh. They were made by Marshall and Sons, Edinburgh in 1877-1878.

The flagons are engraved with the inscription 'St Mary's Cathedral Edinburgh 1878'. They each have six red glass stone insets in a wide band of chased decoration below the inscription, and a further six around the base.

St Mary's Cathedral is the greatest landmark of Edinburgh's West End. It was designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott between 1873 and 1879.
