Communion flagon
Add to album

This pewter communion flagon is from the Associate Congregation Church of Crieff in Perthshire. It was made in 1823 by William Scott, a pewterer in Edinburgh.

The flagon is engraved with the inscription 'Constitutional Assote. Congregatn. Crieff 1823'.

The Associate Congregation was one of the groups that broke from the established Church of Scotland at the original secession in 1733. Secessions and the Disruption of 1843 increased the need for communion cups, basins and lavers.
