Brass objects and fragments

These 79 brass objects and fragments were found at Crossraguel Abbey near Maybole in Ayrshire. They include book mountings and pieces of wire. The pieces date from the 15th or 16th century.

Crossraguel Abbey was founded in the early 13th century as a house of Cluniae monks. Most of the original buildings were replaced in the 14th and 15th centuries. The abbey buildings are now in the care of Historic Scotland.
