Mould for communion tokens, associated with Dean Hugh Buchan of Elgin

This brass mould for casting lead communion tokens (pictured here with one of the tokens) is inscribed 'HB' on either side for Dean Hugh Buchan, episcopal minister at Elgin. It dates from 1784.

The mould is hinged at the end. Between the letters 'HB' is a Latin cross, below which is the date, 1784.
