Head of a battle-axe

This iron head of a battle-axe was found at the farm of Tillychin at Lumphanan in Aberdeenshire. The farm is 'near Macbeth's cairn where a battle was fought in 1056', but the axehead dates from the 14th century.

The axe-head has a thick neck.
