Add to album

Set of Highland bagpipes made in 1983 for the National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland by Hakam Din and Sons, Sialkot City, Pakistan.

With the spread of the popularity and influence of the Great Highland Bagpipe in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, they were adopted as marching band and military instruments in, for example, Pakistan and India, and have come to be manufactured there by several makers.

Sialkot in Pakistan has two or three bagpipe-making firms and has even come to be known as 'Bagpipe City'.
