Hand-coloured print of a Guardsman of the Scots Guards in China, 1927 - 1928, by Lawson.

A private of the 2nd Battalion of Scots Guards is shown in drill order as part of foreign service in China. Scots soldiers served all over the world.

The Scots Guards were formed in 1642 and have a distinguished military history up to the present day. Three Battalions of the Scots Guards served on the Western Front during the First World War, winning thirty-three battle honours.
