This is a model of a wooden bridge which crossed the River Almond. It was designed by Robert Stevenson in 1821.

Robert Stevenson, 1772-1850, was the first of the Stevenson 'lighthouse' dynasty. He designed and built 18 lighthouses, including Bell Rock off Arbroath. He also designed canals, harbours and bridges.
