made in Glasgow
This lightweight touring or racing bicycle was made in 1952 by David Rattray and Co. of Glasgow.
The drop handlebar blue-painted bicycle has the model name 'Flying Scot'. The words 'The Flying Scot' appear on the downtube and 'The Scot Continental Model' on the seat tube. The head badge states 'The Scot Cycles Murray St Glasgow C4'. The frame number 358C is stamped under the bottom bracket and behind the fork crown.
Rattray were probably the largest maker of lightweight bicycles in Scotland and were in business between 1901 and 1982.
