made in Glasgow
This transfer-printed earthenware soup plate was made in the 1920s by the Britannia Pottery Company Ltd in Glasgow. Its body finish was marketed as 'Scotch Ivory'.
The centre and border are both decorated with orange peonies and foliage.
The Britannia Pottery Company Ltd bought over the business of Arnold J Fleming's Brittannia Pottery in 1920.
