From Inverchaolain Parish Church, Argyllshire
This pair of silver communion cups is from Inverchaolain Parish Church in Argyllshire. The cups were made by Edinburgh silversmith Alexander Campbell and presented to the church by Lieutenant-General Peter Campbell of Southhall in Argyllshire in 1750.
The cups have elegant composite baluster stems and straight-sided bowls. Each bowl is engraved with the inscription: 'Gift of Lieut. Genl. Peter Campbell of Southhall to the Parish of Inverchaolan Anno 1750'.
