Carpet bowl and a jack
Add to album

These carpet bowls and the jack were made in the late 19th century, possibly by one of the Kirkcaldy potteries. The bowls are made of earthenware.

The painted decoration on the bowls features 12-pointed white stars.

The town of Kirkcaldy on the north shore of the Firth of Forth was one of the major centres of Scottish pottery production. In the second half of the 19th century it had four separate factories.
