Plaque, with bust of Queen VictoriaThis earthenware plaque with a bust of Queen Victoria was made in 1840, possibly at one of the potteries in Prestonpans in East or Portobello in Midlothian. Oblong yellow-glazed earthenware panel or plaque with a bust of Queen Victoria in bas-relief, possibly made at Prestonpans, c. 1840 Queen Victoria first visited Scotland in 1842, four years after her coronation, and immediately developed an affection for the country.
