Skull mask

This mask is one of a range of inexpensive items sold for Hallowe'en (Halloween) celebrations in turn-of-the-millennium Britain. It could be worn at parties, or by children on their 'Trick or Treat' visits, or "guising" as it was known in Scotland.

This rigid mask shows a gruesome-looking skull, with flowing hair

The 'horror show' paraphernalia associated with Hallowe'en night celebrations in 1990s Britain reflect an Americanised, Hollywood-influenced version of the traditional All Hallows Eve festival - itself a mixture of Christian and popular practices.
