PlateThis earthenware plate dates from around 1820 and is marked, 'John Geddes, Verreville Glasgow'. Geddes was originally the manager of the Verreville pottery at Finnieston on the Clyde. Between 1806 and 1824 he was the owner. The centre of the plate has been painted and sponge-printed with a swan on a lake. The border has also been sponge-printed.
