This hand-coloured fashion plate is from La Revue de la Mode, a fashion magazine published in Paris. The plate illustrates day wear for six children and is dated 25 May, 1912.
The plate also contains 3 sketches of the outfits when viewed from the back. The children are involved in a game of skipping.
La Revue de la Mode first appeared in 1872. It was one of the more notable fashion magazines brought out in the last quarter of the 19th century and continued in publication until 1888.
