Fashion plate, from La Mode IllustreéThis hand-coloured fashion plate is from La Mode Illustreé, a fashion magazine published in Paris. Dating from 1873, the plate illustrates three day dresses, including one for a young girl. The plate is signed, 'Héloïse Leloir' in the bottom right hand corner and 'Bonnard' in the bottom left. Héloïse Leloir was born in 1820 and was the eldest daughter of Alexandre Marie Colin (1798-1875), a painter and lithographer. She married a painter named Leloir and designed plates for the house of Mariton which were distributed to many French magazines. Record detailsTo search on related items, click any linked text below.
