This bronze spearhead comes from Fell of Barhullion in Wigtownshire. It dates from between 1200 and 950 BC. Large spearheads like this one were probably ceremonial weapons.

The spearhead is leaf-shaped and slightly curved, with loops at the base of the blade.

Warriors had a major social role in their society and displayed their status through fancy weapons.
