KnifeThis slate knife was found at Jarlshof in Shetland. It dates from between 1000 and 600 BC. The triangular blade is made from a flake of slate which has been rubbed smooth by pumice. The blade has a serrated edge which would have helped it cut cleanly. Part of the handle is missing.
