Add to album

This is a roughly egg-shaped pebble, with a central hole made by boring from either side.

Perforated pebbles of various shapes and sizes have been used for various purposes. Some have been weights for fishing nets, others loom weights; some were for holding down turf or thatched roofs. Some could have been used on digging sticks.
