Boy's kimono, detailThis underkimono was probably made for the celebration of the boys' festival annually on May 9th. The detail shows part of the resist dyed pattern of a horse and the character for a horse. The horse on the detail of the design of the boy's underkimono is enclosed in a panel shaped like an Ema. Horses were the original offerings given to temples. Now these boards are hung up at the temples giving the name date and plea of the subscriber.
