Soup plate (detail)This detail shows the mark of Robert Cochran & Company, of the Verreville pottery in Glasgow. It is on the base of a transfer-printed earthenware soup plate dating from the second half of the 19th century. The marks consists of a lozenge containing the pattern name 'WINDSOR'. Below are the company initials 'R.C & Co./V.P.' Robert Cochran took over the Verreville pottery in 1847 as Robert Cochran & Company.
