Silver medal (obverse) of the Highland Society of Glasgow
This is the obverse of a silver medal of the Highland Society of Glasgow. The medal was awarded to weaver Dugald Mackellar in 1800 as a badge of merit for his apprenticeship. It was made by Robert Gray of Glasgow.
The obverse is inscribed: 'BADGE / of / MERIT / from the / HIGHLAND SOCIETY / of / GLASGOW No 51'.
