Teapot commemorating the Glasgow International Exhibition
This gilded teapot commemorating the Glasgow International Exhibition of 1888 was possibly made at Alloa in Clackmannanshire.
This side of the teapot is decorated with a representation of the exhibition site.
Edinburgh hosted international exhibitions in 1886 and 1907, and Glasgow in 1888 and 1901. These were large events where Scottish produce, from railway engineering to pottery, vied with international exhibits.
