Bicycle
This safety bicycle dates from around 1885 and was probably made by Hillman, Herbert & Cooper of London and Coventry. It was an attempt to make a safer design of high bicycle, incorporating chain and sprocket gearing to reduce the size of the large wheel.
The 'Kangaroo pattern' front-driven bicycle is overpainted in dark green.
