FigurineThis figurine, possibly of pewter, was found at the site of the Roman fort at Elginhaugh in Midlothian. It dates from between 79 and 87 AD. The figurine depicts a dancing boy wearing a cloth around his waist. Part of his left arm and right foot are missing. Although the Roman occupation in Scotland was strictly military, it did result in a number of fine objects being imported.
