This 'toddy' laddle is made of pewter and dates from the early 19th century. It is said to have been owned by an uncle of the celebrated Scottish artist, Sir David Wilkie.

The ladle has a curved stem with a flat expanding terminal. There is an unidentified maker's mark 'R.K.'
