From Howmae, North Ronaldsay, Orkney
This fragment of a bone sword from Howmae on North Ronaldsay in Orkney was probably a toy. It was made from a large rib between 100 BC and 400 AD.
Only handle and part of the blade survive. The upper part of the blade is ornamented by four dot-like depressions in the form of a square.
