This hand-coloured fashion plate is from La Mode Illustreé, a fashion magazine published in Paris. Dated 1869, the plate illustrates two wedding dresses and a day dress.

The outfits are from, 'Mme. FLADRY' of '27. Faubg. Poissonnière'.

Fashion plates of wedding dresses appeared in most of the notable fashion magazines every three or six months. They are a quick and easy way to show how fashion trends changed.
