Coin (reverse), bawbee from reign of William IIThis is the reverse of a copper bawbee minted in Edinburgh in 1695, during the reign of William II. The coin was worth six pence Scots. The reverse has a crowned thistle. The Latin inscription translates as: 'No one shall hurt me with impunity'. After his wife Mary's death in 1694, William became sole ruler of England and Scotland.
