Add to albumThis hand-coloured fashion plate is from The Queen, a monthly magazine published in London. The plate illustrates women's and girl's wear and is dated 1 November, 1879.
The lady on the right is wearing and outdoor day dress and a hat. The one in the centre is wearing an evening dress with a train.
In 1862 The Queen was taken over by William Edward Cox who introduced a stronger fashion element into the magazine. He arranged for French fashion plates to be sent over from Paris to be included in his publication.
