This is the obverse of a brass ten penny trade token of the India and China Tea Mart in the Gallowgate in Glasgow.
The obverse has '10d' surrounded by the text 'Dividend/Tea Warrant'.
Trade tokens were used by tea importers as adverts. By the beginning of the 20th century a handful of Scottish companies came to control over 60 per cent of the output of Indian tea.
