Spectacles & case, used by Sir James Gillespie Graham
Add to album

This pair of spectacles (pictured here with its case), was used by Sir James Gillespie Graham, an Edinburgh architect.

The spectacles have steel rims and the case is of green shagreen.

Graham, (1776-1855), specialised in designing country houses and Gothic churches. In Edinburgh's New Town, his design for the Moray estate scheme made full use of the sloping site with Moray Place becoming an exclusive and sought-after address.
