These two cast iron fireside ornaments date from around the time of the Reform Bill of 1832.
The ornaments are both in the form of a royal figure, in robes of office and 18th-century dress, leaning on an obelisk inscribed 'BILL / OF / RIGHTS / MAGNA / CHARTA'. The king and the obelisk are set on a decorated classical plinth.
