Fragments of a glass bottleThese fragments from the neck of a glass bottle were found at Torwoodlee in Selkirkshire. They are from a Roman object which found its way to a native site sometime between 80 and 200 AD. Portions of vessels of bluish-green glass, from Torwoodlee, Selkirkshire Although the Roman occupation in Scotland was strictly military, it did result in a number of fine objects being imported.
