Earthenware jugThis glazed earthenware jug was made in 1862 by Glasgow potters J. and M.P. Bell. The jug has a bulbous body and moulded decoration. It is inscribed 'Walter Duncan Born Octbr 4th 1849 Presented By J. Smith. 8th May 1862'. John and Matthew Perston Bell's company became one of the biggest and best-known potteries in Scotland.
