Rapier bladeThis bronze rapier blade was found at Newton Don in Berwickshire. It dates from between 1500 and 1200 BC. The blade has a midrib, and the rounded butt has two rivet holes with surviving rivets. Warriors had a major social role in their society and displayed their status through fancy weapons.
