SpearheadThis bronze spearhead was found at New Downie in Angus. It dates from between 1150 and 950 BC. The long, leaf-shaped spearhead has a prominent, angular midrib with small loops at the base of the blade, one broken. The tip is broken off and parts of the blade are missing. There are lines of dots on the socket and at the junction with the blade. Warriors had a major social role in their society and displayed their status through fancy weapons.
