This glass bottle is one of a collection of bottles found in a rubbish dump near Tulliallan Castle in Kincardine in Fife. It dates from the 19th century and would have contained mineral salts which were dissolved in water to create an effervescent drink.

The front is moulded with 'Eno's Fruit Salts'.

In Victorian times, advertising grew and was used by manufacturers as a way of appealing to their customers. Brand goods were developed and certain types of container were recycled. These included bottles which were a useful means of advertising products.
