Miniature glengarry bonnet, wallet, documents and photographs, owned by Private Alexander Henderson

This miniature glengarry bonnet, wallet, documents and photographs were carried by Private Alexander Henderson of The Highland Light Infantry, 16th Battalion, D Company. Private Alexander Henderson was killed on the Western Front by a sniper in 1917. The wallet and its contents have been pierced by the bullet which killed him.

The leather wallet has a regimental crest. The documents are a notebook with notes on explosions and a diary for 1917, while the photographs are family pictures and a postcard.
