Lamp

This earthenware lamp was made in Sicily in Italy in the 19th century. It is partly decorated with ochre lead glaze.

The lamp has a spherical body, tapering to a very narrow neck and wide applied pouring lip. There is an applied broad band of clay acting as a shield above this lip, and a narrow pulled strap handle applied below the rim to the outer body.
