Made in Glasgow
This earthenware soup plate was made in the second half of the 19th century at David Lochart & Co's pottery in Glasgow. It was acquired in south-east Asia.
The plate has a transfer-printed pattern called 'Oriental', showing oriental buildings with mountains in the background.
Lochart's was one of many Scottish potteries which exported to south-east Asia.
